Rivers of Hope Foundation: San Diego Children We Have Helped With Adoption or Foster Care

Courtney is a bright and friendly girl. She has been with her current caregivers for four years and although they love her they are not willing to commit to adoption and Courtney needs permanency. Courtney loves her school and states that she prefers not to change schools when placed with an adoptive family, but can be flexible with the idea. She maintains average grades and her advocate and home room teacher both stated that she is very bright and engaged in class.

Courtney is a strong, determined, and positive young woman who strives to be healthy and always look her best. Courtney is currently struggling with identity issues and is exploring who she is and trying to build her independence. She has stated that she wants a forever family and would like one without any other children in the home or one younger sibling. Courtney has experienced a lot of loss and hurt in her young life therefore she strongly needs a patient, firm, and loving family to guide her through adolescence and into adulthood.

Gonzalo is a very bright and sweet 9 year-old boy. He enjoys playing baseball and is a great big brother to his younger siblings. He is very compassionate and giving. His favorite things to do include; going to the movies, swimming and playing at Boomers. He enjoys attending church and spending time with his family.

Oscar is a 6 year-old outgoing and fun young boy. He is very artistic and enjoys drawing and music. He is athletic and likes playing soccer. Oscar would like to be a chef when he grows up so he can provide for a family. His favorite subject in school is Science and he loves going to the science center.

Marcos is a sweet and adorable 5 year-old boy with a smile that would melt your heart. He likes all of the super heroes, especially Spiderman. He really enjoys Mexican food but will eat pretty much anything. Marcos likes school and even likes doing homework.

This sibling set of active and adorable boys would add joy and energy to any family. They love each other and take care of one another but they need a family that can take care of them. They would do best in a family that is active, loving and can provide the boys with the stability and structure they need.

William is a dynamic and charming young man. He is very polite and outgoing. His beautiful eyes will melt your heart. He gets along well with other children and adults. Ryan is a very sweet and loving 16 year-old boy. He loves doing arts and crafts. Ryan especially loves playing with yarn & beads. He also really enjoys watching Disney movies and being outside playing in the grass. Ryan is a medically fragile child in that he has Cerebral Palsy and is fed via G-tube. Despite his medically fragile status, Ryan is rarely sick and his general medical health is extremely good. As stated, Ryan has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy which affects his ability to walk and communicate. He has a wheelchair for use when out in the community, but is able to walk short distances with a walker or with the assistance of a person. Ryan receives all his nutrition via a G-tube and does not eat by mouth. Ryan is non-verbal but is able to communicate through sign language. Ryan is a happy young man. His favorite things to do are going to the park and going for drives out in the community. He is a very sweet child and needs a special family that is able to meet his medical and developmental needs and that can encourage and help him to function more independently.

Angel, Fernando and Gabriel are an “all boy” Hispanic sibling group. Angel is 12 and helped to raise his younger brothers. He is a very sweet boy but also very protective of his younger siblings. He enjoys spending time with his friends and playing sports.

Fernando is sweet, friendly, and soft spoken. He is 7 and has a very close relationship with his big brother Angel. Fernando is academically bright and gets along well with others. Fernando enjoys being outside playing and being active but he also enjoys watching movies and television.

Gabriel is an easy-going and happy 2 year-old child. Gabriel can usually be found smiling and he loves playing cars. He sleeps and eats well and is in good health.

These three sweet and handsome boys need a permanent and loving home. It is very important that the children remain together and that their adoptive family be very open to continuing contact with their birth family as they are close with them and do not want to lose that connection.

Dareon is an 8 year old boy of African-American descent who is in good health. Dareon possesses an easy going temperament. He is a very inquisitive child who enjoys playing with same aged peers, football, and video games. He has friends at school, and gets along well with all of his neighborhood peers. He loves going to the movies and taking trips with his current foster care provider.

Dareon would do well in a family that is supportive, active, and loving. He does well in structured school settings and recently received an award for Citizen of the Month. He is a very caring and sweet child who needs a home where he can just be a kid. Dareon has two older sisters who he enjoys spending time with and it would be important that his adoptive family be open and supportive of maintaining these sibling relationships.

Adriel and Gabriel are sweet twin boys of African American descent who just turned 10 in May of this year. They are very bonded with each other and hope to join a family where they can remain together.

Adriel is the “just older” brother who loves to play basketball and is learning how to play soccer. He is a friendly child with a huge smile. He loves pizza and being active. In addition to basketball and soccer, Adriel loves to swim which is his favorite activity in the summer. Adriel aspires to be a basketball player when he grows up.

Gabriel is the younger (by 12 minutes) of the twins. He is also learning how to play soccer and he enjoys it. Like his brother, swimming is one of Gabriel’s favorite things to do. At times Gabriel can be shy but is a sweet, friendly, polite boy. Gabriel hopes to a police officer when he grows up.

These twin boys would likely flourish in a loving and patient family with parents who are consistent, stable and maintain a predictable environment. They desire a family that will encourage them and support them. Attachment-based parenting skills are a plus in developing a happy and close family with these active boys.

This is a sibling set of two boys who are of African American and Hispanic descent. They need a family who can provide them with consistency, love, patience and stability in a home where they can grow and flourish. The boys have two younger siblings who are placed for adoption in another foster home, so it will be important for any potential adoptive family to be willing to maintain contact with these siblings.

Marco is a mature 9 year old who will be 10 in August of this year. He is very smart and doing well in school. Marco is considered wiser than his years as he was tasked with taking care of his younger siblings most of his life. Marco writes really well and he is very organized at home and school. Marco enjoys playing basketball, throwing a football and being outside when possible. Marco loves spicy foods as he sometimes says, “I am Mexican.”

Jesus, who prefers to be called Alex, just turned 6 this past May. He can act younger than his age and seeks a great deal of attention from his caregivers. Jesus is very loving and he enjoys hugs and kisses. He likes to color, ride his scooter and sit down to watch T.V. with his caregivers.

These boys are very sweet and handsome. They would do well in a home with a family who like to be outdoors and active. Marco would love to have a dog. Marco is expected to do well in any school setting but Jesus will need one on one time after school with his caregivers to be successful in school.

Diego is an intelligent, healthy 6-year-old Caucasian/Hispanic boy who will be 7 in August. Diego is an enigmatic young child who vacillates between being exceptionally talkative and very calm and quiet. Diego can be slow to warm up and does not like being asked a lot of questions. He enjoys sports and has played on soccer and basketball teams. Currently, his basketball games are on Saturdays and he enjoys the team activity. Diego likes to engage with his peers and spend his time playing tag, catching tadpoles, or playing video games. He can be prone to giggling uncontrollably when tickled!

Diego is exceptionally smart and does well in school despite the multiple changes in schools he has had in the last two years. He currently is in a class with a small number of children where he receives individualized attention, and is doing great in this environment.

Diego has a lot of significant connections with family, extended family and friends that will be important for his adoptive family to maintain. Diego will likely thrive in a family where there is predictability and structure. His parents should be understanding of the trauma he has experienced and take his behaviors in stride. Diego would benefit from a home where there were no pets or other young children. Diego needs a lot of attention and nurturing. Diego is still making strides in his emotional development and at times will talk or exhibit behaviors of a younger child. Diego is an amazing child who needs a committed and loving family to help him learn and grow into adulthood.

Jacob is a 13-year-old Caucasian/Hispanic boy who was born in April 1999. Jacob is a healthy, spontaneous, and energetic young man with a sweet smile and a good heart. He is athletic and enjoys a variety of sports, with baseball currently on the top of his list. Jacob feels he would like a father figure to take him fishing and hunting. Though Jacob has now reached his teen years, he has not lost his boyishness. He is very lovable and affectionate. He is friendly, is a jokester and loves to clown around. He is completely charming, and captures the hearts of many. Many people that have entered his life over the years have requested to become more involved with him in one way or another. Jacob has siblings who he does not live with as well as other close extended family. It will be important that the family who adopts Jacob will be open to maintaining these connections. Jacob will likely thrive with a family that is stable, understanding, patient and nurturing.

This is a sibling set of two Vietnamese/Laotian children who are fluent English speakers. Michelle and Bryan have lived together most of their lives, and we are searching for a family where the children can grow up together and maintain their sibling bond.

Michelle is a 10 year-old girl born in June of 2002. Michelle is sweet and friendly. She enjoys swimming, cooking and playing with her friends and family pets. She does very well in school and grasps new information quickly. Her teacher recently referred her to the Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program. Michelle is very caring and helps look after her brother Bryan. Michelle is an overall healthy and happy child who is grateful for the good things in her life.

Bryan is an 8-year-old boy born in November of 2003. Bryan is fun-loving and active. He enjoys taking karate lessons, singing and dancing, and he likes to perform for others. Bryan is also teaching himself to play the piano from lessons he finds on the internet. Bryan is very helpful in the classroom and at home and is always asking what he can do to assist others.

We are in search of a family that is committed and dedicated to Michelle’s and Bryan’s individual needs as well as their needs as a sibling group. This family will need patience and understanding of all that the children have experienced in their short lives. Michelle and Bryan are two very charming and lovable children who deserve a family to call theirs forever.

Sativa, Sierra & Natalia are adorable and outgoing sibling girls. They are described by their social worker as “little divas.” They love anything girly and they enjoy going swimming at the pool in the summer. All of the girls love sports and doing anything athletic. Sativa and Natalia enjoy playing soccer. Sativa is 11 years old and is the big sister and although she gets annoyed with her younger sisters she loves them dearly. Sativa also enjoys doing hula hoops and is quite good at it. Sierra is s 9 year-old girl who loves doing gymnastics and would like to be a gymnast when she grows up. Natalia, the baby of the family at 8 years-old, enjoys playing basketball. All of the girls love animals and both Sativa and Natalia want to be veterinarians when they grow up. Sativa and Sierra’s favorite holiday is Christmas as they enjoy spending time with their family. Natalia’s favorite holiday is Valentine’s Day because it is near her birthday and she gets to eat and pass out candy. All of the girls do well in school and make friends easily. Sativa enjoys reading, Sierra enjoys art and Natalia enjoys anything to do with learning. These girls love their dad very much and the children would benefit from an adoptive family that is open to keeping some contact with their birth father and their current foster mother so they can keep these connections. This sibling set of three are closely bonded and take care of each other. These children need a family that will provide them with structure, love, consistency and fun.

Antonio and Ediberto (Eddie) are 11 months apart but seem more like twins. They are very bonded siblings. Both boys love being active, going out to eat, and going out into the community. They enjoy spending time with their mentor, Daylen and look forward to the individual attention they get. The boys are described as sweet and good with animals. Both Antonio & Ediberto would like to play soccer and be a part of a team. Antonio is a 9 year-old boy who likes to be called “Anthony” or “T-Rex.” Antonio’s favorite foods are lasagna and his favorite dessert is blueberry pie. He is in the 3rd grade and does well in school. He is a smart and curious boy. Ediberto is an 8 year-old boy who likes to be referred to as “Eddy.” Ediberto’s favorite food is pizza and he enjoys reading about monkeys, skunks & dinosaurs and playing on the computers. Both boys are loving, caring and affectionate. They would do best in a home where they are the only children or a family with older adult children. They would do best in a family that is very active and enjoys being outdoors and going out to eat. Antonio & Ediberto need an adoptive family that is open and supportive of them continuing contact with their sisters as they love their sisters dearly and it is important that they keep this sibling connection.

Donnell & Genesis are a very loving and sweet sibling set. Donnell is 10 and can be shy when you first meet him but his smile and sensitivity will melt your heart. He is soft spoken and extremely polite and is a great big brother to Genesis. Donnell has many friends and does well at school. He enjoys playing video games, playing with action figures and being outdoors. His favorite sports are football and basketball. Genesis is an inquisitive young girl. She loves animals and caring for them, especially dogs. She enjoys art, reading, playing with dolls and video games. Genesis also loves watching programs on the Disney Channel and Nick Jr. Any parent would be lucky to have this wonderful sibling set as part of their family. Aryanna is a beautiful bright 3 year old who is very active and loves to be outdoors. Aryanna enjoys going to school and loves to sing “Wheels on the bus” and “Where is Pinky.” She gets along with her classmates very well. Aryanna doesn’t have a favorite color but she looks especially cute in pink. Lately, her favorite food is spaghetti and peaches. Aryanna loves to be around dogs; in fact if she could be any animal she would most likely be a dog. Aryanna would do best in a family where she was the youngest child by several years or an only child. Due to her Developmental and Physical needs, Aryanna needs a family to devote their time and dedication to meeting her exact needs such as therapy or educational services. Nevertheless, her specific needs do not stop her from learning every day and reaching her full potential. Aryanna’s very outgoing, energetic and enjoys life to the fullest. Leward is a sweet and polite 11 year-old young man. He loves animals and is very good about providing care for them. He enjoys going out to eat, going to amusement parks, going to the movies, swimming and other family activities. He loves playing video and computer games. He is a good communicator and gets along well with adults. He is a big helper at home and does not mind doing chores. He struggles sometimes with school and homework completion and needs a family to support tutoring and help him with his homework. Elizabeth & Adriana are sweet, adorable 7 & 6 year-old sibling girls. They are not twins but are mistaken for twins as they are so close in age and enjoy dressing alike. Elizabeth is the big sister. She is friendly, smart and does well in school. Elizabeth’s favorite color is yellow and she loves Sponge Bob. Elizabeth likes to listen to Hip Hop and sing along. Elizabeth can be shy until she feels comfortable with someone but once she does she is a very open and loving little girl.

Adriana is the little sister and she is very loving and caring. She is outgoing and looks up to Elizabeth. She loves to play with dolls and stuffed animals. Her favorite color is pink which might explain why she loves Valentine’s Day. Adriana loves animals, especially cats and would like to become a Veterinarian one day. Adriana is cuddly, warm and affectionate with people around her. She tries to comfort her sister with her bright smile and soft giggles.

Elizabeth and Adriana are a pair of close sisters who need a family to provide stability and love and help them heal from past experiences. Arianna is an adorable 4 year old little girl with a great attitude who is always smiling and in good spirits. She loves everything “princess” and her favorite colors are pink and purple. Arianna loves to sing and get her nails done. Arianna was born with a degenerative muscle condition that affects her physical strength but this does not deter her from embracing life with joy and an adventurous spirit. Arianna has a spunky personality and infectious laugh that lights up any room she enters. She enjoys going on outings and being around other children. Ezequiel, born in November 2009, is an almost 2 year old boy. He is a sweet baby who needs a loving, attentive and devoted family to care for him and commit to being his family for his lifetime. Ezequiel has global developmental delays and has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. He has cortical visual impairment which limits his visual abilities. He is described as a good sleeper and he loves to eat sweet potatoes, cinnamon apples and oatmeal. Ezequiel is a precious boy who is waiting for a family to call his own.

Javieon is a sensitive 10 year old boy who likes to please and is a big helper with his younger sister. He makes friends easily and has many friends at school. He enjoys all sports such as basketball, football, baseball and other outdoor activities. He also likes to play video games. Javieon presents as somewhat shy initially, but will open up with a person after he feels more comfortable. Javieon would like to be in an active family that will take him swimming and involve him in sports and cheer for him on the sidelines.

Marsherrill is a lively, outspoken and very bright 7 year-old girl who enjoys giving and receiving affection. She likes dancing, singing, reading and playing with dogs. Isaiah is a 19^th month old boy who is a sweet and loving toddler. Isaiah is able to sit on his own, roll, and can bounce when using a saucer stander. He is beginning to take some steps when someone is holding his hands above his head. Isaiah attends Occupational therapy to help him to learn how to chew and in the mean time receives the majority of nutrition through a g-tube. Joshua, Genesis, Yahaira & Adolf are a bonded sibling group who love each other a great deal. They primarily speak Spanish but are learning to speak English.

The two brothers, Joshua and Adolf live together in a foster home and Genesis and Yahaira live separately from their brothers in another foster home. The children enjoy the time they get together for sibling visits. Joshua is an intelligent and well spoken young man. His favorite food is spaghetti and he enjoys playing soccer and running.

April is an active eight year old girl and is very energetic. She is in first grade for the second time, due to not attending school regularly. April needs an opportunity to fill some of the educational gaps in her schooling. April likes to draw and gets along well with her peers. Jasmine is an endearing, thoughtful 12-year-old Hispanic girl. She is a sweet, fun, helpful, loving child who does really well one-on-one. Jasmine is imaginative, helpful, talkative and a social girl who likes to be playful. She can be animated and silly, and is also quite caring. She likes when others around her are happy. As a preteen, she is becoming interested in boys and gossip. Jasmine loves Justin Beiber! She is also quite artistic and is developing her own sense of fashion style. Her go-to outfit includes skinny jeans, boots, and an embellished t-shirt. She played soccer when she was younger and still happily remembers the trophy she was awarded. Jasmine is a year behind in school because of several placement moves. Although in the past Jasmine was primarily Spanish speaking, she currently speaks English. Jasmine has experienced tremendous loss in the last two years and will need a family who can be understanding and loving while providing Jasmine with structure and limits. This is a sibling group of 4 beautiful and active children. All of the children love each other a great deal and are a bonded sibling group. Zandre is an active 7-year-old boy. Zandra is talkative and socially interactive. He likes to run, climb, jump, throw and kick a ball. He likes to draw and color. Zandre makes friends easily and has many friends at his school and daycare. Zandre is quite athletic and likes to play all kinds of sports such as football and basketball. He loves the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid and would like to see the movie. Zandre is a sweet boy who possesses an easy temperament and adapts to new environments well.

Freddie is a curious and energetic 5-year-old little boy. He can run, walk, climb, kick and throw with balance and coordination. Freddie can count and can correctly identify colors and letters. He really likes cars and also the movie CARS. Freddie likes to play basketball and soccer, put together puzzles and play board games. He is quite a smart and creative boy. Freddie enjoys school and gets along well with his peers. Freddie is a friendly boy who is talkative and enjoys listening to stories, drawing and coloring.

Ty’Yanna is an active and cute 4-year-old girl. Ty’Yanna walks, runs, and climbs well. She speaks clearly and is able to express her needs and wants and answers simple questions. Ty’Yanna also follows directions well and is potty trained. She likes Barbies, dolls, and her favorite color is purple although she likes pink too. She likes to color and draw and will sometimes do puzzles. Ty’Yanna likes playing with bubbles and Dora is her favorite show.

Imani is a sweet and adorable 3year-old girl. She loves Dora, like her big sister. Imani likes playing with her baby dolls and playing outside. She is a helpful and polite child and she is easily redirected. Imani loves to color and sing songs. “Twinkle, twinkle” and “Itsy Bitsy Spider” are two of her favorites. These children need one strong family that is committed to them and will support them as they grow and develop in the same household as brothers and sisters.

Matthew is an adorable 2-year-old boy. He loves rolling back and forth from his tummy to his back. He has improved head control and is pushing himself up. Matthew is still partial to a bottle but in February he began eating more solid foods which consist of fruits and vegetables. He also loves pudding, ice cream, smashed bananas, whip cream and sweet potatoes. Matthew is a happy toddler. He smiles easily and has a wonderful and contagious laugh. He loves taking baths and splashing around in the water. He rolls across the room and he really gravitates towards men. Matthew loves music, being held and cuddling. He is a loveable little boy. He is a good sleeper at night and is learning to nap. Matthew loves pets and cuddling with the cats in his current foster home. This is a delightful sibling set of three children. Dulce is a sweet and sensitive 8-year-old girl. She is on-target developmentally. Dulce is outgoing and social and likes to talk a lot. These amazing siblings love each other a great deal and need to stay together in one home. Dylan, who is 11 years old, is the oldest brother, Gavin is 7 years old and Emma is 3years old. They have been through a lot and need a family that is nurturing, patient and firm. Dylan enjoys spending one on one time with his caregiver and benefits from this time. Luis is a bright and active five year old. He likes school and is learning about letters and colors. He is excited to be learning and is gaining new skills daily. Jacob is a 9-year-old boy. He is an incredible athlete. His favorite sports are football and basketball and he is happy to play outdoors. He also loves to play video games, especially Wii and specifically Guitar Hero. He has made tremendous progress during the last academic year with his school work. He still struggles with homework and requires a lot of patience and help with this. Jacob enjoys going to the local Boys & Girls Club after school. On a recent visit to the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, Jacob demonstrated a natural curiosity and enthusiasm for the hands-on activities.

Jacob would love to be a part of an active and athletic family. He has enjoyed having a dog and being the little brother in his foster home. Jacob thrives on praise and is eager to show off his talents…and his great dimples, when he smiles! The tremendous amount of progress he has made in this stable and loving foster home is indicative of his ability to continue to grow and flourish.

Bryan and Chris are 10 year-old twins who are very close and have been fortunate to live together since they came into the system at the age of 5. Christopher’s favorite TV show is the Simpsons and Family Guy. His favorite movie is Incredible Hulk and his favorite food is tacos. He wants to be a baseball player when he grows up and would love to be able to play on a little league team. His favorite baseball player is Chris Young and his favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys. He also likes the sport of wrestling. He enjoys doing his chores which include working in the garden, organizing the pantry, feeding the horses and putting away dishes. He also likes playing video games and would love to have his own dog some day; his favorite dogs are the boxers.

Bryan wants to be a SWAT officer when he grows up so he can be a hero and save people. Bryan likes playing football and wants to be on a football team. His favorite food is pizza and popcorn. His favorite TV show is Supernatural. He likes RAP/Hip hop music. He wants his adoptive family to be nice and help out with his homework. He wants a family that has dogs and horses and a family that is active and makes good food. When Bryan was asked what he would like to change about his life he stated, “I would give food and houses to all the homeless, have a good job and get paid a lot, and be adopted.” Bryan also initially expressed that he wanted two parents but then changed his mind to say he wanted just a mom because dads are mean.

La’Daniel is a sweet and cute eight month old African American little boy. He loves to roll over and will roll to get a toy or something he wants. La’Daniel’s favorite things are toys that he can hold, shake or bang. He is a strong little boy and he sits up really well by himself. He enjoys sitting in a walker and loves taking baths. His current caregiver describes him as a very smart baby with a sweet and easy going disposition. La’Daniel laughs all the time and will crack himself up. He has a great personality and is a very happy baby.

He is learning to talk right now and his favorite words are “da da.” La’Daniel has a medical condition known as hypochondroplasia (AKA Dwarfism). Hypochondrolasia is a developmental disorder that results in a disproportionately short stature, and a head that appears large when compared with the underdeveloped portions of the body. Intelligence is usually normal. Standard treatment of hypochondroplasia usually takes the form or orthopedic surgery and physical therapy. Genetic counseling is also advised for patients and their families. La’Daniel’s current caregiver reports that he is one of the best babies she has ever cared for and that whatever family gets him is truly going to be blessed.

Eliga is an active boy who has a great sense of humor and loves to sing. He can present as shy, with limited eye contact, yet he opens up as he gets to know someone. When Eliga becomes more comfortable around people, he is happy, laughs and tells jokes. Eliga really enjoys playing video games and attending church. He loves to sing along to all types of music including popular and religious songs.

In the past, Eliga had the opportunity to take guitar lessons and he would love to pursue additional musical activities. Lord is a friendly, engaging and well spoken boy. He is polite and very well mannered. He is social, has many friends, and gets along well with younger children, peers and adults. Lord's favorite subject is Science and he likes learning and studying about dinosaurs. He likes playing Legos, watching cartoons, reading books, drawing and playing outside. Lord does well in school and works very hard.

Jerome and Sade are part of a sibling group of three who are extremely bonded and love each other a great deal. Daneko, the third sibling, is not pictured here as he is camera shy and does not like getting his picture taken.

Jerome is a funny 12-year-old boy. He loves to be the center of attention and to entertain everyone. Jerome likes sports (especially basketball), singing and reading. He also raps and dances. Jerome would probably benefit from being entered into a drama program of some sort. He enjoys eating pizza and "anything that isn't broccoli or a vegetable." Jerome is quite close to his siblings, especially to his baby sister.

Daneko (not pictured) is a 10-year-old boy. He is quite bright and is doing well at school, with amazing grades. He is liked by his peers. Daneko struggles to engage with others and is quite slow to warm up and to trust. He is introverted, shy and soft spoken. Daneko does well with the support of his siblings and becomes comfortable once he knows and trusts you. He enjoys sports and being outdoors. He loves football and he is really fast. Daneko has striking eyes and a sweet smile.

Sade is an adorable 3-year-old girl. She is a sweet and easy toddler. She is shy to warm up at first but once she is comfortable she is very outgoing and funny. She loves going to the beach and playing in the sand. She loves cheese and any kind of chips. She is smart and has her older brothers wrapped around her finger.

It is our hope to find a family willing to adopt all three children together. However, if this can not be obtained we are also open to speaking with families who are interested in adopting Jerome and Daneko together, as Sade could be placed with the eldest brother already placed in a foster/adoptive home. It will be important that the family who adopts these children will be open to maintaining contact with this older brother.

Jeremiah, Tyler, Regianae & Reginald are a bonded sibling group. They are all very athletic, funny and have good senses of humor. They are bright, sweet and witty children and do well in school. Anthony, Monica and Christopher are a sibling group of three who need a family together.

Anthony is a 14 year old boy who has a good sense of humor. Anthony is smaller for his age but makes up for his size with his big personality. He loves to tell stories and is quite creative. Anthony's favorite foods are pizza and goldfish. His favorite holiday is Halloween and favorite movie is "Nightmare On Elm Street." Anthony is thoughtful of people less fortunate than him and has expressed desire to give to others who are in need. Anthony is very nurturing towards little children.

Monica is a beautiful 11 year old girl. She does very well in school and has a sassy and fun personality. Monica makes friends easily, but she likes to be the boss. She is witty, bright, and artistic. Monica enjoys being active and loves animals, especially horses. She would love to do horseback riding on a regular basis and wants to be either a teacher or veterinarian when she grows up.

Christopher is an 8 year old boy who has many endearing qualities. He is engaging with adults and other children and makes friends easily. He is a good student and willingly does his homework. Kandy and Cesar are a great sibling set of two sweet Hispanic children.

Kandy is 9 years old and has an outgoing, spunky personality and is often smiling and in a happy mood. She is kind and loving and can be quite talkative and friendly. Kandy is a sensitive girl and her feelings can be quite tender. She is easily comforted and enjoys spending time with her family. Kandy likes to color and draw and she enjoys arts and crafts in general. Dolphins are her favorite animal. Kandy wants to be a doctor when she grows up because she likes to help people. She also enjoys things like jewelry, dolls, and hair accessories...especially the pink and purple kind! She loves Tinkerbell and one day hopes to have a room decorated with a Tinkerbell theme. She has a beautiful voice and enjoys singing and dancing. Kandy is bright and likes to learn. She loves math, even though she says she is not that good at it. Kandy likes eating Mexican food and enjoys playing tetherball.

Cesar is a handsome and loving 8 year-old boy with a great sense of humor who likes to occupy his time watching movies and playing outside. Cesar loves playing video games and can get competitive. He also likes being on the computer and he is thrilled about pretty much anything that is electronic. Cesar enjoys coloring and he enjoys playing with other children. He is an active boy and likes being a big helper. Cesar responds well to praise. He likes Ninjas, WW Raw and Star Wars. The sports he enjoys playing are soccer, baseball and golf. Cesar would love to play on a team once he is placed with his permanent family.

Kandy and Cesar need an adoptive family who will provide nurturance, unconditional love, consistency, and be actively involved in their lives. A good family for these children will have the energy, time and patience to help the children adjust to their new family and provide them structure. Cesar and Kandy are quite close to their younger siblings, who are in the process of being adopted by another family. We need Cesar & Kandy's adoptive family to be open to maintaining the sibling relationship between all four of these children and possibly having contact with the birth mother as well. Trace is a 7 year old boy of Caucasian descent. He is a very intelligent, talkative, and quirky young man. He can keep you very interested with the various topics that he likes to talk about such as science, movies, and toys. Trace is also very inquisitive and loves to learn. He performs at or above grade level academically. Trace has reported that he enjoys working outside doing activities such as yard work alongside adults. Shawn is a 16-year-old African-American boy. Shawn is a sweet and loving child who has Down's syndrome. His ability to communicate verbally is limited yet after spending some time with Shawn, you will be able to understand just what he is saying. Shawn loves to cook, listen to music and sing along to his favorite songs. He also likes playing all types of games including video games. He loves to eat just about everything. Shawn can be quite silly and enjoys playing games like hide-and-go-seek. Shawn has a great deal of empathy and concern for other children and he gets along well with others.

Shawn will need encouragement and careful supervision with becoming as independent as he can be. Due to Shawn's diagnosis, he will have the on-going support of supportive services for the rest of his life; however, Shawn deserves to be part of a family that can give him lots of love and lots of hugs.

Victor, Miguel and Jasmine are three bilingual (English/Spanish) siblings.

Victor is a sweet, charming, talkative and outgoing 12-year-old boy who was born in August of 1998. He enjoys playing video games, collecting Pokemon cards, building with Bionicles, listening to music and playing with his younger siblings. Victor is helpful to his caregivers. He is protective and nurturing with his siblings. He will need a patient family that can assist him in changing his current role of “parent” to the more age-appropriate role of “big brother.” Victor loves to play outdoors, to go swimming and to ride bikes.

Miguel is a sweet 7-year-old boy who was born at the end of May 2003. He enjoys swimming, running, playing outside and crafts. He likes playing video games and cars with his brother. Miguel is a talkative and friendly young boy. He is intelligent and does well academically. Miguel needs a loving and structured environment to help him grow and learn alternate effective ways to express his emotions.

Jasmine is an adorable and playful 5-year-old girl who was born in January of 2005. She enjoys coloring, swimming, playing with dolls, crafts and playing outside with her brothers. Jasmine is outgoing and talkative. She loves animals and is nurturing towards the pet cat in her current home. These siblings are wonderful and active children. They need an active family that would involve them in pro-social activities to increase their self-esteem and assist them in channeling their energy in a positive way. Victor, Miguel and Jasmine have experienced a great deal of chaos and many moves in their young lives and need a strong family that is committed to providing them with love, stability and permanency so that they can begin to trust and build lifelong attachments.

Matthew is an endearing, fun, active, 9-year-old boy. He was born April 2001. Matthew has mental retardation but is a resilient child who is making continual strides. Matthew loves attention and hugs and his favorite things to eat are popcorn cookies and candy. Matthew enjoys going to the park, Lego Land, Sea World, shopping at local malls, to the movies, Torrey Pines, Chuck E. Cheese, Denny’s and to church. At home, Matthew enjoys engaging in a variety of activities such as using the computer, playing with his toys and playing outside. Matthew is constantly on the going moving from one activity to another without slowing down.

Matthew will likely blossom in the care of an adoptive family that is patient, kind and committed to caring for this sweet, wonderful child. He is growing and learning more every day and a forever family will help to ensure his continued growth. Matthew needs a family who can provide him with a lifetime of nurturing, support and lots of love and hugs.

Adriann, Brianna & Vanessa are a sweet and loving sibling set.

Adriann is an active and healthy four year-old boy. He is very sociable, has a good temperament and listens well to his caregivers. He currently attends preschool and loves learning and will be attending Kindergarten next year. He likes helping around the house and learning from his current caregivers. He likes to help garden and loves to play with his cars and dinosaurs. He also likes to play baseball, basketball, and soccer. Adriann likes going to the park and swinging on the swing set. He also likes camping. He loves hugs and kisses and positive reinforcement.

Brianna is an adorable and happy little girl. She is a good talker and communicates well with her caregivers. She shares well with her siblings and loves her brother and sister. She likes to help cook and her favorite thing to make is banana cake. She loves to play with dolls and wooden puzzles. She loves to color, read and go camping. Brianna is independent but also enjoys one on one time and cuddling.

LaToya (11) and Al’lyn (8) are bonded siblings as they have been through thick and thin together.

Although LaToya is only 11, she tries to take care of her little brother. She is very smart and already does some 8th grade schoolwork. She likes music and keeping up with the latest dance moves. LaToya states that she would like to be a veterinarian, but if that doesn’t work out she would like to be either an actress or singer. She is a sweet young lady who is able to communicate when she is upset but needs a family to guide her through her feelings and help her develop some good coping skills.

Al'lyn (pronounced like Allen) is an active, sweet child. He does well in school and loves to read. His favorite subject in school is Math. This past year, Al’lyn played in his local peewee football league and now in the off season he can be found riding his bike, scooter or skateboard. His favorite foods are lasagna and macaroni and cheese. He enjoys watching cartoons and his favorite animal is the rhinoceros because it is big and strong and it doesn’t feel pain or let anyone hurt it. LaToya and Al’lyn are currently living in separate homes. They adore each other and have a special bond and would love to be together again. They would do best in a family that is patient yet active.

Alexandra (who prefers to be called Alex) is a 12 year-old girl. Alex is a beautiful girl who is bounding with energy and enthusiasm for life. She is artistic and creative and she loves to draw, sing, dance, and be around other people. Alex's favorite color is pink. She enjoys watching movies, singing, dancing, swimming, playing basketball and soccer, and riding her bicycle. Alex also enjoys going to the park, journaling, and writing stories. Michael (12) and Michelle (11) are bonded siblings. They are both very sweet and kind children. They enjoy spending time together and playing board games.

Michael is very talkative and charming. He enjoys playing with his Nintendo DS and loves to build things with Legos. He is very interested in anything with science as this is his favorite subject.

Michelle is also very sweet and caring. She is more reserved and enjoys doing typical girl things such as playing with dolls, doing her nails, and listening to music. Michael loves to eat different ethnic foods like Filipino, Mexican and Italian food.

Currently, Michael and Michelle are separated into two different foster homes and look forward to the day when they can live together as a family again. Both Michael and Michelle long for an adoptive family that can provide them with lots of love and stability.
